Ok, now that I have dusted off those house blues, I thought it would be a good time to introduce my second Craft Crush!
Hello? *echoes* Hellooooooooooo?!
This place has been a little empty recently – I just haven’t found the time to blog. March has whizzed by and I fear that April will too! The Boy and I have two weddings and a 40th birthday party to attend in April, so three out of four weekends will be busy. I am not complaining though (unless we run out of petrol by then?!)
Anyway, today I want to share with you my latest craft crush. A craft crush for me is when I spot something that makes my eyes pop (in a good way), fills my head with inspiration and gets me super excited. Time to announce my first craft crush!
Are you taking part in the How to be an explorer challenge (aka Explore Club?) If the answer is no…why not?! Sign up now!
The lovely Laura Babb started this challenge to give herself a regular dose of fun, creative challenges. Laura’s second challenge was to find accidental art in everyday life and our brief was as follows:
“Go for a walk. Identify existing art that you find: things that are not created on purpose. Some examples include stains on the pavement, spilled paint, bird poo, residue, corrosion, rust, things that are damaged, random arrangements of objects that you find interesting, a bag caught in a tree.”
So, I whipped out my camera at every opportunity and snapped away. These were two of my favourite shots:
I am privileged to be able to take my dogs on lovely walks on the beach. There is nothing quite like it. I love looking at the ripples in the sand and see how the waves have shaped the shore. I took several photos of the sand but this one is my favourite.
At the top of Burgh Island, sits the ruins of a chapel. If you stand just in the right spot, you can see through both windows and out to the sea. It’s so pretty.
So there you go, my accidental art finds. What do you think?
Happy Monday everyone!
Hope you’ve all had amazing weekends? Mine has been spent back ‘home’ visiting family and celebrating birthdays. I made a delicious double chocolate loaf cake for the birthday girl, I’ll blog the recipe later on this week so keep those eyes peeled!
My Mentions this week are…
This week is turning out to be an inspirational one. It is so easy to get caught up in the daily routine of life and you can start to forget what inspires you to keep going, makes you smile and look forward to the future. Every now and again I get a jolt where I remind myself of what it is I’d like to do with my life, what I want to achieve and what will make me happy.
I thought I’d share with you my five favourite blogs. This idea is shamelessly stolen from the lovely Fiona over at The corner of the internet I call home, who wrote a top seven list a while ago.
These blogs are the ones I enjoy reading, sometimes commenting on but definitely ‘oohing’ and ‘ahhing’ over them.
Without further ado, and in no particular order, I give you, my top five… Continue reading
Today is very exciting – my first ever guest post has been published! The awesome Fiona over at her blog, The Corner of the Internet I Call Home has gone and got herself married so she asked if I would contribute a post to cover her whilst she is naturally occupied with other things.
I jumped at the chance, and you can read my post, which is all about having a crafty wedding, here.
Hope you enjoy reading it, let me know what you think!
