Sorry for my absence (I’m sure you all noticed I was gone….right?!) I have returned from a week’s holiday in North Yorkshire and also my best friend’s wedding at the weekend.
The BFF’s wedding was beautiful. I hadn’t seen her dress before the Big Day and when she put it on I could have cried. She looked stunning. Made me think back to the days when we were in school saying things like ‘I can’t wait to drive’, ‘I can’t wait to be 18’, ‘I can’t wait to be married’ and now we are ‘grown up’ and sharing these moments together. That is something very precious to me.
I wore a beautiful bridesmaid dress that was cobalt blue and floor length. Lots of people commented on how lovely the dresses were and in the photos the blue pops out brilliantly.
The favours were adorable – little jam jars filled with either mini eggs, marmalade and jam. The marmalade and jam were made by the groom’s father, a lovely little touch I thought.
The whole day was lovely and it got me and The Boy thinking about our day. I am so excited about it all! My head is racing with a million ideas of what we could do/have/make and so is The Boy. Time to get organising!
This week, a wedding on Bridal Musing caught my eye ‘Sweet 1950s style black and white vintage wedding’. The bride’s dress is very similar to the one I have in my mind, the lace sleeves, the gloves, the delicate skirt etc. Beautiful!
