You know what? I am ridiculously excited about my Hen Do. I actually knew what I wanted to do waaaaaaaaaaaaay before I started planning it. I booked the date back in November, a whole seven months before the Do!

I don’t do New Years Resolutions as I ultimately fail to keep them! Instead, I’m going to set myself some mini missions for this year. I want to continue to use this blog to document my journey through crafting and also the minor matter of our wedding in September! My missions for this year are *drum roll*…
Befriend my sewing machine
I am now the proud owner of two sewing machines. One is a little red one that The Boy bought me, which I have used for taking up almost all of my trousers (short legs!) I’ve recently been given my late Aunt’s sewing machine which I want to get the most out of. I will learn how to use the machine confidently and make at least one item of clothing myself.
Meet local crafters
Pretty much self explanatory isn’t it?!
Furnish the house with handmade items
We’ve just moved house and it is the house of cream. Every wall is cream, the carpets are brown. It is screaming out for colour and personality! I shall be on a quest to inject colour, joy and a sense of homeliness (totally just made that word up) into the house.
Produce as much as possible handmade for wedding
We get married in just under eight months and something that is really important to us is that our day is a true reflection of us. We’re not particularly sticking with tradition, if we are it isn’t because we feel forced to, it’ll be our own choice. Part of what this means to us is to do as much of it ourselves as we can. We want people to come to our wedding and be able to say ‘this is 100% them’. So we are determined to do as much DIY for our wedding as we can.
There you have it, my first missions for 2012. If I smash these then I may make some more, you never know, I may like setting myself goals!
