Brownies come in all shapes and sizes. Just search the internet and you’ll find plenty of different recipes for these tasty treats. This brownie recipe has been used by my Mama for as long as I can remember. I have memories of using her old weighing scales, putting the brass ounce weights onto one side of the scale and pouring the ingredients into the brass bowl on the other side. When she passed it on to me it was still written in ounces, although I have since converted it into grams!

These are super simple brownies, a great stock cupboard make for when you need a chocolate fix quick!

I whipped up a batch of these muffins a couple of weeks ago when we had a visit from The Boy’s sister and her two boys. It was so lovely to have them visit and spend time with them. The recipe is really simple and so easy to follow – it has five steps and that includes turning on the oven and setting out your muffin cases! They were well received, one of the nephews had about 3 I think!

This post should come with a health warning. You will want to eat a lorry-load of these once you have tasted them. They are soooooooooooo yummy but oh so sugary, your teeth will not thank you for eating these. Then again, there are always dentures!

I really like loaf cakes. I like the look of them, the way you can cut a satisfylingly big slab of loaf cake to accompany your cup of tea or coffee. They are easy to make and you don’t have to fiddle around with any fancy decorations or piping if you don’t want to.  They look lovely and rustic just the way they are.
